Default GWX saving glitch

I remeber reading somewhere a little while ago that there is a glitch with saving in GWX.

I keep trying to save mid-ocean so I can continue my game later, but the game just crashes...its really frustrating having to restart over and over again.

I was just wondering when is a safe time to save.

Are you saving within 50 km of anything (land, ships or planes) or while submerged? If so these are big SH III 's; they can cause crashes. Here's a good tip that I got from someone here: when you want to save, dive to a reasonable depth & perform a hydrophone check to listen for any nearby vessels. If there aren't any around you should be able to save your game after you've surfaced (as long as there are no planes around of course).

Hope this helps...

P.S. These are not GWX glitches. The 50km & saving while submerged bugs have always been in SH III & unfortunately the GWX team couldn't solve them.

I've never had any trouble saving with GWX, and I'm sure many thousands of players could say the same.

It's not GWX - look somewhere else.

Thats strange because when I was playing stock SHIII I could save anywhere and anytime, just before firing a torpedo, within sight of a massive convoy, in the middle of a deck gun fight with a DD, never had a problem. But after installing GWX everytime I save the game crashes while Im out at sea (except this one time where I was a mile or so out from harbour and I could see multiple friendly ships).

The last time I saved I was sure there was no one around, but you never know I suppose

Adding new mods while on patrol can cause corrupted save-games.

As stated above... you need to look elsewhere for the problem. The GWX team did nothing to change how the game is saved.

Must remember to check the hamster and the fridge magnets.
