I was terribly amazed when two 15'' shell hit musashi she sank right after the impact!
Of course this is a little bit of show off but that was really lame........ Musashi sunk by 2 hit?!?!
What do you expect more a salvo from a DD to kill here
Musashi has 5500 hit points and mine has only 800
OKKKKAAAAY...........
She has 18 inch paunh! and i have 15 inch
I hit her twice but she shot and destroy two of my precious TURRET
Pff Pfff i made sure Musashi has 99 armour level.....

So am i the only sick kid who is convinced that Musashi is getting pwn by Bismarck?!?!?
DOH!
Jim! Privateer! Letum! OMG that cant be

Maybe you got lucky and penetrated to a magazine.

Maybe it wasn't designed to be a surface warfare game.

I have a lot of maybes, but no answers.

Sorry.

your dealing with surface units which are playable. something that SH3 never really was designed for... therefore it is a far out modification and as such it will not respond in any historical sense.

It might have taken a hundred 15 inch shells to sink that BB in real life... or - as in the case of the hood, it only took one or two well placed shots to obliterate her.

you never know.

In short... with playable surface ships, you are toying with forces which are not fully understood by SH3's engine... its likley to do some wierd stuff. and nothing that happens can be taken seriously with such a mod.

If you are really after some fun surface unit fighting with long drawn out hour long exchanges of massive shells i recommend SH4 with the USS Iowa mod. or perhaps the Bismark Mod etc.

much more engaging as some of those tubs can take hundreds of hits

Sorry, that was just my way of saying "I don't know". I should have said I might be able to come up with a lot of maybes. But I still don't have an answer.

I would like to see a decent surface warfare game that puts you on the bridge, as in the SH series, rather than looking at high-up external views; but what I'd really like to see is a decent escort version, that would let me travel with a big convoy and only rarely encounter a u-boat, and would allow for some real multi-player again.

You might want to check out the S-Boot mod (sticky thread in SH3 Mods forum) if you haven't already. I think that's a much better behaved surface-ship mod than any other you'll find for SH3.

I already tried the schnellboot, and i didnt really like it. I get all my crew killed when i engage small ship or airplaine in the easy mod!
