Default Three Questions...

1. How do I find the depth under keel in SH4?

2. What happened to the range at current speed function?

3. Has anyone developed a mod like Sargebuto's free bridge cam for SH4?

1. Click the first button on the left 'command' another button, the second I think, will give you depth to bottom. Be warned that this uses active sonar and can alert nearby ships.

2. Not sure in stock but RFB mod has it. its on the Nav page.

3. No idea sorry.

Can't you already walk freely around the bridge and decks in SH4? I know I can in the Sub School. Is it different in campaigns?

I'm almost 100% sure you can't walk round anywhere outside in stock. You must have a modified camera?

Skookum, Sergbuto made a camera for SH4 that enabled walking around outside, it was incorporated into the ROW camera mod set. They were for 1.4 though, so may not work properly for 1.5 in the U-boat part.

You can free roam insdie the ship using sft+F2

You can free roam outside the ship using the free cam F11

RFB modifies the 'follow' cam (full stop . key) that makes 'roaming' a bit easier.

1. Sweet, thanks.

2. Sweet, thanks. I'll download RFB.

3. Just to be clear, I'm looking for a camera like the free control room camera, but for walking around on the bridge and outer deck.

Well Glory Be! It must come from ROW because the only mod I've ever used is WClear's sea and sky mod, and it turns out that that's what let me do it. I took it out and you were right - it doesn't work completely stock. Here's that I can do with WClear's mod.

So if WClear's can let you do this, Kriller2's PE should be able to as well, I would think.

Yep, F11 will allow you to go anywhere, but the camera mods allow you to go anywhere, whilst attached to a ship. So, with F11 you can look at a ship sailing on by, but with a mod derived from Sergbuto's you can move around a ship and have the camera move with the ship, giving the impression that you are a passenger on said ship.

That Kriller2 sure is a clever fellow.

TMO (Trigger Maru Overhauled) will also let you roam around the conning tower and bridge/surrounding boat area, but not the command room.

On a related note...

Was the 'camera out of sectors' horrific grinding machine siezing crash ever resolved?

Frazzamazzagrumblegroanyoumademegolook...

Yeah, 4.5. With absolutely no graphics effects, because my poor PC won't run 'em.

Using TMO I have the camera "break" as in continually falling, or being "stuck" in some random sea area almost constantly. Any way to stop that from happening?
