Default Cannot Install SH4

I have just bought Silent Hunter 4:Wolves of the Pacific..from ebay. It is not foreign and not a copy, it came in the normal case, artwork and all booklets provided and wrapped, brand new and not used. However, the install was running good and nothing was missing. When I clicked on the desktop icon, it said 'Intro.dll' not found..so, I figured I needed to reinstall it and I did..same thing happened.

I thought this might be an error on all games, so I needed to install a patch..I went to ubi.com and I saw 4 patches..I installed the latest 104. It wouldn't complete either, a pop up saying 'Catastrophic Failure'. So I had to come to you guys, please help!

probably you will need to explain more.

How was it... that "it was running good" then you "clicked on the desktop icon?" How did you get it to run without clicking the icon..or did it suddenly stop working?

Also what OS do you have?

Also did you consult:

http://www.subsim.com/radioroom/showthread.php?t=133290

Also..just between you and me... I can just bet that by the way you opened the thread...you raised a red flag or two not to mention a few eyebrows about suspicion of .... well you know...

(pssst.....and BTW...if I remember correctly ,it is contrary to the user agreement to even mention other sources for subsims since this forum derives revenue from selling the sims here.)

Well, the install was running good, and I don't know how it missed placing the Intro.dll, as I see one.

Yes, I am running Windows Vista 32-bit. I guess I will have to move SH4 out of Program Files like I have done SH3.

Yes, it won't run correctly in the programs folder.

Something bad happened, so I had to wipe out the whole computer and start from scratch. I do this on a regular bases, every few months...but this time I didn't expect to do it. So, I am installing everything all over again.

Hä...it worked. All I did was completely uninstall it, deleted every folder and then I installed it again but in a Ubisoft folder I made out of Program Files. That will do the trick.
