Default Harbour traffic running aground

Hi,

just started my first patrol with GWX 2.1 and noticed several strange things.

I was following my escort, a M35 Mineseeker out of Wihelmshaven. I noticed a fisherboat coming from starboard. I thought, "Wow, that might be gettign a close one" and then the fisherboat rammed the Mineseeker into the stern. Alittle later I thought "Hm, time for changing course. The mineseeker never did this and ran straight aground. Well, I obviously didn`t follow and plotted my course out to the Northsea.

A little later "Admiral Hipper" and an escorting Destroyer come in sight on opposing course. When they came out of sight on my stern, they headed straight for the beach too. I guess they ran aground too.

Did anything go wrong with my update to GWX 2.1 or is this a known bug?

I rolled back via SH3 commander, deinstalled all Mods with JGME and updated to 2.1 while being in base.

TIA

Z.

I think it could be normal. SH3 AI isn't perfect.

Ya didn't save in dock then reload did ya? Cause doing that makes SH3 throw hissy fits and run ships aground.

I stopped an entire DD formation because my route was painted through the group.. so the group messed up, with ships that didn't know no more where to go.. they rammed each other!

This just shows that if you are going to save a patrol in SH3, you're better off saving 50 km from ANY port...

Yeah,

I did save in port. I updated the game and as it was late, I only wanted to check if the game starts properly. I totally forgot obout the 50 km rule.

THX to all!

50 km rule may be useful as a strategy. When you like ports riding, than you can eliminate almost all of it's ASW cover by doing save game near the port. After that all you have to do is just sit and wait. Worked for me a few times. Nowdays I use it rarely because it is simply unrealistic .

What? You've never stopped real life and started it again, just so you could watch the cars crash?

Be nice and someday I'll explain how to do it.:rotfl:

Seems like Bernard has quite some family inside the Kriegsmarine.

Back when they first had the ad campaigns about driving defensively, I told a friend who was just starting out on two wheels "Ride paranoid - they really are out to get you."
