Default [REQ] Map mod

I have been kicking this idea around for quite a while, and I think it's a good one.

But if someone could determine the precise location of the time zones in SH3 and perhaps add lines to the map with like a clock symbol at the top of the map or text like "-2:00 Berlin" which tell where the time zones are and the difference from German time.

Not really a no at this point.
If I remember right.

What you see on screen are the map files SH3 uses to render
terrain.

SH3 and SH4 use those for height maps.
Certain colors are up and down.

Add a line to those maps and you may hit a wall if in the wrong color.
Use a color that goes deep?

You may plant a canal through every Nation it crosses!!

It may be possible to do an over lay type deal?

Vanjast's RealNav mod uses grid lines on the map for Lat/Long, should be possible.

Should be do-able. How are you at editing *.RAW files?

Partly correct mate.

Remember the Indian Ocean had patrol sections and labels added to the low zoom version (zoomed right out), the same will be true of these time zone lines.

If a RAW edit was used the only question would be what colour to use 'over land'.:hmm:
I'm not sure I know of another way to add time zone lines. A new overlay/layer added to the menu.ini would not work as it wouldn't be geographically fixed. Perhaps editing the draggable convoy map (top left) would suffice.

Hell, I have nothing better to do this weekend. I'll take a look.

Major Edit - Umm, just re-read the OP [....if someone could determine the precise location of the time zones in SH3...] LMAO. You do know that the SH3 world is different to the real one. So, off you go on patrol, have your notepad ready to jot down the time changes. By the time you get back, I can have the RAW ready. LOL. Seriously the only way to achieve this is to use real world data/time zones BUT it will not be 100% accurate to the SH3 world.
