There was once a man who accidentally cut his hand off with a circular saw.
A history of depression and now no right hand made him decide to commit suicide right away and he shot him self in the head with a nail gun 5 times before he passed out. he was found several hours later by his friend's dog which alerted his friend. After a visit to the hospital all 5 nail where removed and his hand was re attached restoring almost full functionality.

After reading this, if I need to use a nail gun in future, I'm going to make sure it's cordless!

Back when I was a yougun and not too bright, I was hanging out with my not too bright young friends. It was the middle of winter and one of their fathers chopped wood for their wood stove. Anyway. My friend got ahold of daddy's hatchet. Of course we were doing stuped kid stuff with it...(Trying to throw it so that it would stick in stuff, etc...). Anyway, my friend took it, and walked over to a tree stump. A nice FROZEN tree stump. He tried to spike the hatchet into the stump. It rebounded straight up and smacked RIGHT INTO HIS FOREHEAD !
![]() The rest of us stood there moretified while he just stood there in shock. The hatechet was LITERALLY stuck in his forehead. Then, he starts LAUGHING about it ! ![]() One trip to the hospital, and he was all patched up.. one LUCKY kid !

Im having a hard time picturing how a tangled air hose made the nailgun discharge. Ive used Nailguns ALOT. You have to first have the a level/pedal depressed where the nail acutally comes out of, and THEN you have to pull the trigger. Its a built in saftey design feature. Unless he was stupid and fixed the saftey catch in its depressed position, im having a hard time seeing this.
Theres more to this story then what they're showing. Of course they said "cord", which kinda smacks of electrical tool, although ive never heard of/ seen or used a electric nail gun, but i wouldnt be surpised if theres one to be found at any local home depot, but even then i have a hard time picturing the design features of this tool changing. More then likely, this man was being an idiot. Definatly keep him away from the powder actuated tools!!!!!!! |

Many professionals disable the 'Dummy features'.
I myself have several different guns where I have disabled the safety. My Paslode will shoot a 2 inch nails through a 3/4 inch sheet of OSB at 20 paces. At full auto mind you!! I allow NO ONE to use it! But that's how I make a liveing. the faster I can complete my job? the more money I make. I also take more time then others in my area to train people with standard tools. I have been shot in the back with a 10 penny when the guy missed the stud!! We used a pair of pliers to pull it out. |
