I am well into 1942, 3rd or 4th mission, maybe 5. Not seen one single convoy, anywhere since beginning of war. Patrolling Honshu coastline, Hokkaido and Okinawa - nothing! No IJN, of any size, anywhere and biggest ship encountered was a tanker.
Is this normal with RSRD incorporated?

first off, the rsrd mod has little or no traffic so get used to that fact. if you check the history books anything you find recorded will be there at the spot and time where its supposed to be (thats what the mods is most concerned with) but all other ship traffic is removed so dont expect to just run into ships on every patrol. think of it as a true recreation of the recorded history of ww2 ship traffic.
also anytime you use one of the larger mods you should first ask questions in that mods thread, you will get help here too but specific questions about a specific mod are best asked inside that mods thread so you get more answers from others also using that mod |

I think i have only found 2 convoys with rsrdc playing for 6 months real time . But when i find them its fantastic . You get messages to be in a certain locations though . How boring would it be if i found a convoy every patrol .

My current patrol I have received 4 relocation messages. But, in SH4(patch4) messages were frequent about convoy locations, mostly well out of my area, but now I do not get any at all. I have 12 ships this trip, all individual sailings.

In RSRD, every convoy is where it was in the real war, along with every ship that could be verified. There are no convoys or ships that just shuttle back and forth between two waypoints as in stock SH4.
If you're encountering no convoys, that is because there were no convoys there at that time in the real war. Frustrating, isn't it? It sure was for the real sub captains too.

Since I was able to introduce the radar, my finding ship locations have risen though.
