Default Slow jerky mouse pointer

My mouse pointer is slow and jerky in gameplay. Works fine on all game menus and rest of computer. But, in any game mode like Career, War Patrol, Sub School, etc. slow and jerky.

No probs in other games so far.

Any thoughts or suggestions?

Thanks for any comments, Big Bob..................

That happened to me when I first got the game. Solution for me was to turn down or off some of the graphic options.

Sounds like your taxing your video card a tad beyond it's limit.

Remember, your cursor is part of the 3d element and is "rendered" along with everything else.

How about a spec list on your machine, and a list of your video options, including resolution?

Thanks, did all that still a little slow and jerky but better. Is there a way to get rid of all slow mouse pointer problem? A Mod or Tweak?

Default Depends on your system

Your system specs would help. Be prepared for the inevitable "you need to upgrade"!!!

Like I said, to really diagnose and give you good advice, we'll need the following-

A full spec (RAM, Video card model, Proc) list

Your Vid Card FSAA and AF settings (Full Screen Anti-Alias, and Antiostropic Filtering)

The resolution you're running the game at

and finally- a total list of all the options available, and their settings in the graphics page in SH4.

It could be something really quite simple. This full list will let us tell you exactly what you need to do to make SH4 your b!tch, and get out there sinkin some tonnage.

I know it's a pain- but trust me, it's worth it!

All graphics on SH4 menu screen are unchecked, all slide controls are at far left, except for Gamma which is set at center.
Resolution is at the lowest setting available at game graphics menu. As this is set to a higher setting, mouse arrow gets slower.

There are no mods, addons or tweaks.

SH4 1.4v

Is this enough info?

Yup.

Ya may need to upgrade. The most telling line is this one:

That right there tells me that it's definitely either a driver or a needed upgrade.

Let me ask you this- you mentioned other games that "work just fine". What games are those?

Yeah, the lowest nVidia graphics card I'd use is the one I am presently using, the 7600GT. You are several rungs below that, so there is nothing you can do to make things better aside from an upgrade. I looked at an overclocked 8800GT yesterday for $157 at Newegg.

If you have Vista, that won't work well with SH4 and I'd go for the 7900 series. Of course if you go for a 7600GT you can come in under $100 and still be able to play SH4 WFO at 20-40 fps. That's not bad!

It's possible, but you have to have a motherboard that supports PCI-E.

Please, please, please give us a full rundown of your system.

I'd hate for you to throw $200 down on a card, then find out you have nowhere to plug it in.

The only way to fix it is a upgrade of the card.

I have the same results with a 6600 gt card, now i want a new card for my AGP motherboard.

7600gt or Ati 1650 pro ??? :hmm:

Try dropping the resolution down to 1280 by 1024.

Your system looks perfectly fine for SH4 apart from the video card so i suspect dropping the resolution will help a lot. You may also be able to re-enable some of the gfx options in the menu.
