Hi all.
Recently I tried 2 new MODs, together, in this order: OM_V2.0, OM_V2_Patch4 & Environmental 4.5. When I fired my torpedos at my first target using these MODs, they passed right through the ship. It was a merchant, just off the east coast near New York. I dont use manual targeting and have never seen this happen before. I wondered if somebody could help me understand it. Thanx all. |

Make sure that your fish aren't set too deep and passing under the target's keel.

Thanx you guys. Well...it was just that one particular ship that my torps were passing through. I had my game saved to where I could try repeatedly, but from every angle it was the same, passing right through...wierd. But I moved on, closer to NY and came across other ships, the torps worked fine on them
![]() I wish I had a better understanding of the torpedo settings and the know how to use manual targeting. Eventually I'll be working on that. I am enjoying the MODs (OM & Environmental 4.4)...being on the east coast of the states is interesting. Got some terrific screenshots of the city and the statue of liberty. But was a little disapointed when I didn't encounter any resistance or see any war ships...yet. Thanx again. |

I've since sunk 5 ships with no such effect. It was just the first ship I encountered that it happened. |

Sometimes with the event camera it can look as tho the torpedo is passing through the hull. It's happened to me afew times when firing very close to the keel. Just bump them up a meter or two and they should hit.
In my case I was firing at a shallow ship and my torpedo ran too keep even at minimum depth, I was forced to turn on contact influence but then that got the job done. |

Funny. I have had something of the same problem on my patrol to the coast of America. I fired one G7E at a Coastal Composite Freighter, event camera showed it appearing to run under the ship. I set it to run at 4 meters depth. I then surfaced and sank it with the deckgun.
Re the second Composite I encountered, I fired first eel at 3 meters, again appeared to run under. The second eel I set to 1 meter depth. It looked as though it went through the ship, but that may have been my imagination and it ran under. Again I surfaced and sank it with gunfire. It could have been bad luck with all torps running deep, but I am just a little suspicious that all is not right at the moment. Regards |
