Because lots of people would like SH3 in SH4`s engine, I guess. Me included.

Danlisa! Have some popcorn. I'd question the OP's premise, wouldn't you? Naw! Too much trouble and we're having fun.

Here. Have a cheap American beer. Colorado Koolaid.

Put it this way, there are a ton of great mods for the PTO ( Pacific )of SH4 and folks will continue to mod that side of the game. Because the U-Boat side SH4 is still relatively new naturally it is getting some more attention, and will continue to as eventually it that side of the game will be opened up to include the ATO ( Atlantic). But the PTO side of things is just to great a sim now, so don't expect it to take a back seat, lots of folks are and will continue to play it.

It's a great time to be into the series, there seems to be something for everybody

Why volatile? Honest answer. Can't fault anyone for that.

A few reasons:

1. Some just love the Atlantic and Uboats. As a result with a new graphics engine in SH4, they would like to sail the Atlantic with this graphics engine. I can't say I blame the really. SH3 graphics are good, IMO SH4 graphics are better.

2. For some modders, this is all they like to do. It is a challenge and something that fulfills their desire to be creative by modding the games. SH4 is a new pallet for them to paint the Atlantic again. Some are painting the Pacific. Some are painting both. Just as long as our great modders keep painting.....life is good.

3. From what I'm told, the SH4 files are much more moddable then SH3 so perhaps the world is the modders oyster now and getting new things in the game for the Atlantic theater is possible. Things that SH3 was not capable of handling.

4. Everyone has their poison!!!!!

5. One day when the Atlantic is modded to all it can be in SH4, I will certainly play the Atlantic again.

Dan just means that being a member of the SubSim staff, RDP is not allowed to say the truth (which theatre of operations he prefers) in order to keep things quiet on here. It's unfair, in my humble opinion... Even you moderators should be allowed to express their feelings publicly, whatever theatre of operations you prefer.

Maybe typical in your mind, but it's honestly how I feel, so there is a difference. I have 2.1 installed, Trigger Maru and soon RFB, and I am sure when the ATO is incorporated into SH4 I will get back to playing the U-Boats.

I thought ( and still hope ) that SUBSIM was getting past stuff like this, pitting one game against the other, blah, blah, blah.... ( that is usually the direction these threads take ). If folks want the drama, there have been plently of posts-threads ( myself included ) already done on the subject.

Good point.....let's hope the usual influx of paranoia doesn't rise to the surface and inhibit a state of peaceful coexistence. :hmm:

I'm allowed to express anything I like just as you. Making cheery posts does not increase my pay. Personally, the Atlantic is boring at the moment. The Pacific is bright, shiny and new. Lots of fun and I'm growing with the game and the mods being created. I'm sure one day I will tire of the Pacific. When that happens, I'm sure there will be an all encompassing mod for it and I will play it....

RPD...did you sign that "gag order" Neal gave you or did you consult your lawyer first. You never sign contracts that state you must be the cheeriest mofo on the forum.....
