Makes using the AA guns very problematic when the conning tower tub walls constantly get in your view...

Isn't there a mod that removes the bathtub from early-part of the war subs? I think you should look for it under searches "bathtub".
Install that mod and it'll remove the bathtub

It's the early war conning tower which we refer to as the "bathtub". The walls make it rather difficult to aim the gun, although it can still fire.
Only a mod can fix this, I'm afraid.
