SHINANO for SH4

Can Anyone Confirm That an IJN SHINANO of correct shape and Tonnage Will soon be available for SH4 ? Does anyone know for sure.

Is this what you were asking about? Lurker has included a Shinano CV in his next release of the Run Silent Run Deep Campaign (RSRDC) Mod Phase III.

Gaaaahhhhh. If we can do that perhaps someone can add Lexington, Yorktown and Essex class CVs... I mean, rather than having to look at Wasp clones every time we enter or leave port?

I tried but gave up when the complexity of 3D modeling overwhelmed my feable talents and abilities.

The Shinano was my holy grail in SH1. I only saw it one time during a career. It was at anchor in a port I was sneaking into. And I didn't have enough torpedoes left to sink it!

History: When launched, Shinano was the largest aircraft carrier in the world and held that title until U.S.S. Kitty Hawk was commissioned in 1961. Unfortunately, Shinano's size was of no avail and her operational life lasted just ten days. Shinano was laid down as the third of the Yamato class battleships, but work was halted on the outbreak of war in December 1941 and then restarted in June 1942, but now as an aircraft carrier, a type that was urgently needed to make up for the carriers lost at the Battle of Midway (June 5, 1942), The battleship hull was retained, but with an additional single long hanger, topped by an armored flightdeck measuring 839.9 x 131.3 ft (256.0 x 40,0m). Despite her enormous size, Shinano was not primarily intended for use as an attack carrier, but as a carrier group support ship, where her enormous storage capacity for aircraft, fuel, and ordnance would have been of great service to the fleet. Shinano was launched in October 1944 and started running trials on November 19, 1944. She was still on trials, with many parts of the work incomplete and her crew onlw partly trained, when she was torpedoed by U.S.S. Archerfish on November 29, 1944 and sank several hours later due to uncontrolled flooding. The reason for her sinking was one of the tasks not completed was the fitting of watertight doors, although the lack of training of the crew also played a part.
