Is it possible to modify and merge existing sound mods by just deleting undesired sounds and adding new sounds, or are there other files that must be edited? I love many of the sounds in Thomsen’s and Einbecker’s mods, but the sounds extracted from Das Boot with music from the movie or the ones that cut off abruptly tend to ruin the immersion (at least for this sailor).
Is this a simple merge job or is there more to this task than meets the eye? Thanks in advance! |

Just replace those ones you don't like, pretty simple.
I know what you're talking about (music on the back). Those are corrected in my new V3 version of the sound pack. Will be out this week. ![]()

I assume that also goes for deleting sounds from the mod folder too? I was curious because I also noticed in your mod additional files:
data/menu/en_menu.cfg data/Cfg/Commands_en.cfg Plus the mega-mod specific folders (GWX, OLC, etc..) What are these other files and folders for if they aren't necessary for the replacement of the sounds? Thanks! |

You have to merge the sound packs, for each sound you pick which one you want to use (by listening to both) and delete the one you don't want. Then after all is done, just enable both via JSGME. Or you can create a new sound pack (yours) with the folders in the correct order and just toss in the sound files you like, one by one. It's quite a job, but should be easy to do.
