Default system scanner

Guys you know of any small utils that will scan my system and tell me what stuff is in my PC eg RAM type etc.

I have 512MB of RAM currently and am due to receive 2 x 1GB 400 Mhz PC3200 RAM and want to check that the RAM currently in my machine is compatible eg not slower.

I know it is best to have matched pairs and the 2 x 256MB sticks obviously are but if they are 333Mhz RAM then I am assuming I have to ditch those two and put in only the 1GB sticks.
