Default How to have a XVIII in campiagn?

I already played till the late of 1944, but still don't have any news for XVIII.
Does anyone know how to have one?

From the setting of XVIII, it should be available on April of 1944 with 30000 renown.

Just got mine after 6 patrols in the IXD2, enjoying it for a bit.

I think as with boats in SHIV, you are simply offered the boat once you get enough renown through your campaign (whether you spend it on upgrades or not) :hmm:

Which is limited, does anyone know how to mod the amount of H2O2 on the XVII?

The XVIII boats we're never actually completed, so we'll never know

Don't know if the XXIs had the hydrogen-peroxide drive...

XXI's certainly did not. The XXIII's did (on paper, since that's where they existed), and the range certainly doesn't sound unreasonable.

From http://www.uboat.net/types/xviii.htm

Range
(nm/kts)

3000/17 sf
45/4 sm
202/24 sm*

it seems that so little fuel and battery they have, compare with ixd and xxi =.=

Err, the XXIIIs we're operational even before the XXIs

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Type_XXIII_U-boat

We're talking about the XVIIIs (18), not the XXIIIs (23)

It's quite easy (ok, really easy) to modify the game to start a career in the XVIII, even in the 1943 campaign. The only thing is you start out with some technologies (advanced radar, advanced sonar, etc) that arent normally available that early.

I dunno how long the H2O2 lasts for range, but I was able to do 25kts submerged, and something like 29 kts surfaced running on it.
