We're taking damage sir!
I normally save my patrol when I am on the surface and not in danger. Then when I start up the patrol the next day, as soon as it starts I always get the message "we're taking damage sir". and the screen jumps around as if something hit the sub.
Any suggestions on how to fix this. |

You probably took damage somewhere prior to that save.
When you load the save the game engine "detects" the previous damage for what it considers to be the first time and the animations/sounds are called as if it had just happened. No work arounds Im aware of. But you might want to think twice before taking her deep. Other than that just got to live with it. Only lasts a few moments anyhow, damage was already done, nothing being added. |

Yep, Steamwake is right. Got that some time with all the noise and hissing steam. It'll pass with a new save.

I've had the "We're taking damage sir!" yelled at me over and over at loads even when I had no hull % damage or any red damage. However, I *had* had damage and repaired it recently before the save.
All kinds of crazy things can happen when you first load a save. I've had "Torpedo missed sir!" repeated over and over at load even when I hadn't fired any torpedoes in a good long while. I say don't worry about it, just pay attention to whatever the damage screen displays. Maybe our crew went without O2 too long or something. ![]()

These are reminders of critical events that have happened previously on the patrol that may have an effect on your current situation as you re-load the save. I find them very useful for getting situational awareness quickly after a layoff of a few days.
