Is it possible to add the bearing to the "depth charges in water" response?
Tried the Message_SO.cfg file. Different variations of [Msg0] MsgId=0 Priority=3 Timeout=20 Param0=1 MsgOgg00=Depth_charges_in_the_water_sir ;SoM_P_Depth_charges_in_the_water_sir.ogg Param1=1 MsgOgg10=Warship Param2=1 MsgOgg20=Bearing Param3=1 MsgOgg30=0;Number -> always put 0 AND NO CHANGE IN THE RESPONSE. ![]() So the function that uses this only pays attention to 1 parameter. IS this hard coded or in one of the .zon, .dat, .sim files maybe?????

Thats pretty darn interesting... :hmm:
but it would be very complicated for the sonar man to say "depth charges on the water sir, bering 201, 202, 204, 206, 206, 206, 209, 215..." :rotfl:

The sonar operator would only hear the splash and that would be somewhere near the enemy surface vessel ?
Then take into account ocean currents etc, bloody good idea though :hmm: but I'm flat out finding which way is North, East, South, West ![]() |

I'd love to know how to attach a sound to an object, I could add it to the sh3.sdl file ok but how to attach it!

the dsd file is how sounds are attached.
Splash sound is attached to the siajF02 for example. That way, you hear the sound near the front of the sub. Depending on what sound, and how you want to hear it, you attach it to an object. It's all done with ID's. Each sound source has an ID and a Parent ID (object you are attaching to.) |

I know S3D can edit the sdl file but I haven't had time to check the latest
version to see if it can edit the dsd. It's really not that hard. and I believe Minitweaker can also be setup to add the needed section to the dsd file. |

![]() ![]() Yes, alot of depth charges in the water at once would be msg. overload. When the player is the Hydro operator he can hear the bearing of the splashs, so there is some foundation for this idea. A bearing for the "Attack run" msg would be nice. I've d/l mini tweaker ![]() I found this in file Phrases_Voice_1.dat SoM_K_Depth_charges_in_the_water_sir <C#=j>'#>o>w>ߦ>F> >,(>@>?/?q?? ?,#?M$?05?xL?6Z?HZ?[{d 1 of course in the hex format which i could not get to copy right ![]() theres no premade tweak for this file in mini tweaker. Maybe alot of spinoffs on this trail:hmm:

@Reece
Tested latest version of S3D. It will allow this type of work. Play with it a bit and you'll figure it out. If you have problems? Feel free to PM me. ![]() |
