Default A call for thoughts and prayers

I lost my uncle this morning to cancer. He was terminally ill, but lived almost twice what was predicted. He was the kind of uncle who likes things younger people liked, Lord of the Rings, weapons and had a keen interest in learning what he could from me about submarines.

Its funny how even though you know something is going to happen, it never prepares you for it.

He sounds like he was a good man Kapt. As long as he stays in your memory, a part of him will live on.

The best any of us can really hope for is a life well lived and the knowledge that we have enriched another's life somehow. It sounds like your Uncle accomplished this.

My condolences on your loss.

Condolences

I almost lost my grandmother to a mild heart attack over Christmas (don't worry, she's recovered somewhat now), so I know what you are going through. My condolences and thoughts are with you and your family during this difficult time.

Thank you for all your support. I can safely say he'd be honoured to have such people as his peers. Thank you. Thank you all.

January...such a dark, bleak month. But it's always a dark time when these things happen. My sympathies.
