Hello, I have a major SH4 problem, it won't uninstall... whenever i try to uninstall it, it says "SH4 .exe problem has occured and installshield needs to close", so I removed the program off my computer through "programs and files", now when I put the disc in it wont let me install it, all it says is "play and uninstall, none of those two work... can someone please help me?

Make sure all the SH4 files in the program files are deleted, also any SH4 files in My Documents, make sure they are all removed. Sounds like there are still files leftover.

Did you go into the MY DOCUMENTS folder and delete the SH4 folder as well?

REGEDIT (REGISTER EDITOR) is a registry editing tool and should be used with extreme care as it will have dire consequences if used incorrectly.
To put it simply, the registry is the "corporate memory" of your computer and holds all important information relating to all the computer's programs. You can delete files for example but there may still be stuff relating to those files in the registry. After deleting all of your SH4 folders in Explorer, you could run REGEDIT and do a search for "SH4" and if there is still SH4 material existing the Registry will show it. IF you know what you're doing with Registry files then you can delete the SH4 stuff within the Registry. WARNING: To re-emphasize, do NOT mess around with the Registry unless you have experience or are comfortable with manipulating the Registry. I believe there is software out there called "Reg Cleaner" or something like that which is more user-friendly and less risky for the novice. Someone else may be able to verify that. |
