Default Stranded After Being Bombed!

I was on patrol and bombed by aircraft. There was a lot of damage, most of which was able to be repaired...but one deisel and one electric engine were destroyed. For some reason I now have no propulsion at all...shouldn't I at least be able to move at a few knots since not all of my engines were destroyed? Has anyone else had this happen?

Default Out of luck

Sorry to hear you just fell foul of a major issue in the game. Lots of us have faced a similar fate.

If the damage bar in the repair screen is completely red then your engines are gone .
There is at present no way to independently run prot or starboard engines. I am assuming that you have lost both electric and diesel motors on one side of your boat. If so there is currently no way of resolving the problem (I am being an optimist here).. This may change in V1.4. I suggest breaking out the paddles for the crew as that is the only way you will be getting home from this mission sailor.
Better luck next time out

Too bad the sim doesn't allow the crew to be rescued from derelict subs. Sorta like with the Darter and Dace.

i was in the same situation, but with two diesel engines destroyed.

don´t dive if the damage is too extensive.

Actually most of the damage in that picture was inflicted by deck gunfire from fellow US subs. The Darter ran aground on a reef chasing Kurita's battlefleet during the battle of Leyte Gulf. Dace took her crew off and tried to destroy her with torpedoes and gunfire. Later the Nautilus came up with her six-inch guns and gave it a try. The wrecked hull was still sitting on the reef as late as 1962.

Default thanks

thank you for the info. I have had several poorly planned attacks that hve led to me needing to emergency surface and my boat has ended up looking pretty similar
