Default about Black Swan

just how difficult are they. i managed to evade 2 fairly easily and destroyed both. one i hid submerged right next to a slowly sinking ship and all the BS did was circle me, until the ship started to explode . then it was time to get outta there. that's when i sank #2

Assumeing your useing GWX.

Once a black swan gets its best Sensors late war and assumeing the crew is at least Experienced.

Your in for a hell of a ride.

Espeically if you run into that one guys (he was a real person) Elite hunter kill group that randomly patrols the seas thats modeled into the GWX.

Depends...how good are You??

Sometimes they're easily confused, those are the good times

Sometimes they find you, and don't give up until you're dead

And then there's the times when, after chucking 5 hedgehogs at you without killing you, they get really mean, call in all their other Destroyer Escort buddies and start plastering you with more depth-charges than you'd care to count until you're dead, sunk, hung, drawn, quartered, chopped, grilled and mincified, and if you still won't give in they'll act like they've left in frustration, then when you finally dare to raise your periscope again some Sunderland drops a stick of bombs on it just to make sure.
And then they laugh at you from a long way off

but on other days it just rains...

Oh, and stay away from Buckleys too, they're unpleasant

Well, I have one career wich has reached year 1944.
Still, Black Swans aren't that hard. Atleast I think so, it just depents how you deal with them.

I really don't understand how so many thinks that Black Swans are so hard?
Of course there are some who aren't as skilled as someone else, but seen some even very skilled and talented Kaleuns saying that Black Swans are hard.

I have met Black Swans, fought them, and winned them. Many, many times (maybe way too many, I think my luck is going to run out soon)

Can someone explain this please?

They are just a an obstacle... when they are not more than 2 ....

If I sense more than 2, I think about "getting even", but this costs torpedos and is something I prefer to avoid....

As long as there is ammunition, there still is hope....

The thing is, when you got more then 1 black swan, the GWX AI is in full swing and one will listen actively while the other scans passivly.

You got to BE REALLY luck and skilled to survive that kind of escort evasion.

And pray as hard as you can that they don't call in any further reneforcements! Then your goose is well and truly cooked!

Black Swan: late war--Type 147 sonar, centimeter radar, hedgehog and 8 K-Guns make for a nasty combo! Jonnie Walker used a Black Swan as his Flagship.

We hates them we does .

The Swan Class is very easy, just hit the middle or stern with one torpedo and she goes down..And of course..the bow is a good spot too. I'm glad they put em on convoys..not hard and plus they blow themselves up by DC's eventually!

caught them doing that. the s o would lose contact on one but the other would be pinging away. theuy should be more careful when near stationary

There is only one occasion that i really could not escape a dd. When it lost me, as soon as it started pinging, it found me. That was 1941 and the dd was a River class.
I had to come to p/d and attack it, which is something I normally never do.
