Lets say I am planning to run an early war career, and will set myself up more or less perpendicular to torpedo targets at about 1500 meters or less. What is the easiest way to proceed if I wish to start using manual targeting.

Could you elaborate on what you are asking? I presume that after 270+ posts you know how to use the search function and are not just asking for general help.
If you are asking how to obtain target course from AOB and therefore what course to adopt to be perpendicular to the target track, wait a few days for the U-jagd tools mod beta release. it contains tools taht help you do just that ![]()

I'm also not really sure about what you would like to know. But this might help:
http://www.paulwasserman.net/SHIII/#...al%20Targeting EDIT: if you use the link the page somehow doesn't open at the top. I don't know why that happens, but I think it's best to start to read at the top. Last edited by Huskalar; 10-09-07 at 07:21 AM. |

Easiest way in dire situations:
1.- Point your bow to the target (You can now also make a quick fixed line speed measurement before going to the next step) 2.- Estimate AOB. Say for example you calculate it to be 30º 2.- Quick maths: 90º-30º=60º 3.- Now turn your bow those 60º in the same direction the target is going. You are now at right angles to the target course ![]()
