"It all started 40 years ago. On June 8, 1967, the U.S. commander in chief, President Lyndon B. Johnson, turned his back on the crew of a U.S. Navy ship, the USS Liberty, despite the fact that the ship was under deadly assault by Israel’s air and sea forces. The Israelis were engaged in an ugly scheme to lure America into their war against Arab states. They tried to destroy the Liberty and its entire crew, then pin the blame on the Arabs. This, they reasoned, would outrage the American people and immediately lead the United States to join Israel’s battle against Arabs.
The scheme almost worked. It failed because, despite the carefully planned multipronged assault, the Liberty crew managed to broadcast an SOS over a makeshift antenna. When the appeal reached U.S. aircraft carriers nearby, the commanders immediately launched fighter planes to defend the ship. Informed of the launch, President Johnson ordered the rescue planes to turn back immediately.
For the first time in history, forces of the U.S. Navy were denied the right to defend a Navy ship under attack. Johnson said, "I don’t care if the ship sinks, I am not going to embarrass an ally." Those were his exact words, heard by Navy personnel listening to radio relays.
The ally Johnson refused to embarrass was Israel. "

i mean israel already has nukes,already has american military hardware, f-15s, f-18s f-16s , laser guided bombs, bunker busters, cruise missiles and ICBMS.... why havent you attacked Iran yet and "disarmed" them?? they are a threat arent they???

To the baffoon thread starter, if you honestly seek "source and witness documented" (that's the clincher terminology) about the USS Liberty, buy Judge A. Jay Cristol's book The Liberty Incident: The 1967 Attack on the U.S. Navy Spy Ship. Everything you quoted and linked to is Jew hating wishful thinking.

But you won't because you have a stronger interest, which I've just mentioned.

I say Cheney is running this country and this so called "war on terror" . Bush , he's just a puppet with an IQ of -1,000,000,000,000 if there is such a number . He's spending billions of tax payers money on this damned war!!! And there is no real end in sight. We keep hearing of these so called troop withdrawls but when, WHEN!!! This war has failed both militarly and politicly. What now? In Afganistan where this all started there must be a sign somewhere that says "Iraq. Turn left and go 1,000 miles that way" Bush as been saying that God is going to help us win this war but if God wanted this war to end he would not of created man because all men at one point or another go to kill each other. Isn't on of the ten commandments is "Thou shall not kill"?

But then further in the bible it says "A Time for war and a time for peace" So i think when its a war its different. Thou shall not kill, might mean dont go out and murder someone over a handbag or whatever:hmm:
