Default Need help w/ RFB 1.31

I would like to know the following things.

1. How do i get rid of the BetterScopes mod that comes with RFB? I have tryed to delete the files the betterscopes_attack.dds, betterscopes_observation.dds but that obviously doesn't work because i can't just replace the deleted files with the ones from the SI optics by OakGroove because the scopes in that mod are named differently. I also tryed to rename the files to betterscopes_attack.dss etc. and i got them changed but the bearing numbers still are the ones from RFB so i thought it would be easiest jut to get rid of the whole BetterScoped mod. So is this possible without getting rid of the whole RFB mod?

2. How do i change the sub/ship icons on the nav map to the default because i don't like the ones that come with RFB because it's harder to see in what direction the convoys/task forces/ships/subs travel.

You have to replace the lines in the .ini with the OLD: codes as shown here. To revert back to "Stock Scope"

I'm thinking of doing the same thing. A few questions though: First, in the code lines above, is the "old" lines what we need to go back to, as opposed to the "new" lines? Second, would this be the proper sequence:1- Install SH4, and patch to 1.3.

2- Install the latest RFB

3- Change the code lines back with the "old" values, as opposed to the "new" values of the Better Scopes Mod.

4- Install OakGroove's mod

I really like "betterscopes". The easy to read compass is great and obstructs nothing from view.

To each there own i guess.

I like the "Better Scopes" myself. Gives you a more realistic feel when looking through it, with the dirty lense effect. The problem is, I would really like to use OakGroove's instrumentation mod, and his new periscope interface will conflict with Better Scopes. So to get the best of both worlds, (RFB and OakGrooves) you need to remove Better Scopes

I have both RFB + Oak's interior + better scope. I just followed the instructions as Captain Cox stated above, installed the two scope files and it was done.

@Fish40
Sorry for the late reply on this, have been in and out of home as i am on holiday

If you want to run RFB+BetterScopes+Oakgroove's instruments mod, do like this

1- Install SH4, and patch to 1.3.

2- Install the latest RFB

4- PRIOR TO INSTALL OakGroove's mod
open the mod and go to

4.1- "SI OPTICS Kit"
navigate to
SI OPTICS Kit\Data\Menu\Gui
and delete
"Bearing"

4.2- "SI OPTICS Kit"
navigate to
SI OPTICS Kit\Data\Menu\Gui\Layout
and delete
"Periscope_Mask_1024"

5.Install OakGroove's mod

I hope that answers your question.
