300000tons/patrol? This game is too easy... if the US were so successful in those days, they would habe won the war in some months...

Yeah, I imagine this includes ludicrous amounts of deck gun kills.

Good job, though.

Playing the vanilla game on like 60% difficulty setting, it's like fishing in a bucket full of hungry fish. You get to sink more Yamatos than Japan had Destroyers.

In three patrols of my new career on SHIV I sank more capital ships (carriers/BB's) than my longest SHIII campaign! Way too many ships!

it might be too easy, but you still have to get in a good position against that's faster than you when submerged, and when you surface they get one whiff and you have to go under again, and then get away clean afterward. about 6 were sunk by the deckgun and those were merch when i didn't want to use torps or when i ran out and on the way for a resupply, whch were a few on this last cruise. had 2 that sank on their own which i didn't get credit for. dunno how it happened as i was no where near them . these were the first capital ships i've gotten, and not for the lack of trying. difficulty setting? what's that . i've seen the layer mod, but not sure what it does . still, i gotta say this game , despite what short comings they may be, which are being taken care of

In the mods section of these forums.

Sticky at top has a list. Pretty obvious which one is which.

There are so many . . . and I am not looking for a full game mod . . . Is it the one which allows a start in Dutch Harbor? If so I already have it . . . or is it something else?

Hell if I didn't have to worry about the eventual corrupt save or CTD I imagine with a little caution and endless refitting about any tonage is possible on vanilla.

Yep, I'm using RFB and came across a subbies dream but had no hope whatsoever of getting anywhere near the taskforce. Got driven away by the screens.

Fearless, what you coulda done was stay outside the escorts visiual range, scoot along on a paralell course on the surface ti'l you reached a point ahead of the TF then make an approach submerged. worked for me
