Hi, modders,
Got one fer ya..... It seems that the torpedo damage (size of holes) in ships are much too large. Would it be possible to reduce the radius of the holes. Does any ex-sailors know what the general size of damage should be? ![]()

You must to download the TimeTraveller MiniTweaker program, and must to have a template for each file you want to tweak... it can be found into the Tools Pack into the mods collection topic in this forum.
Be ware the program was build for SH III, then it goes by default to pick up files into SH III. You must to indicate eavery time you open the program the new route to SH IV folder. Then you must to load up the template file, make the changes and save the file. The program crates a back up file called "Copy of XXXXX" , you must to remove it from the working folder, do not let it there, almost in SH III, it seems to still picking up the old file, not the new tweaked file. Thats all... |

Redwine is dead on - but be warned - the damage AREA is where the majority of damage is caused - you can up the power and reduce the radius of damage - but your likely going to find your not happy because ships will take more torps to sink.
Honestly - it sounds more like your just not happy with the graphical display - rather than the actual damage applied. If thats the case - there really isnt a "fix" possible, as the graphics size is dependant on the damage radius. Perhaps there is a variable that could be modded to reduce the visible damage while not changing actual damage? If so, I don't know where to find it. May be a good question for those who delve more into the graphix side of modding.

Any way, results my be good, i use that tactic on Die Slowly, i reduced the radius, to have smaller holes, but rise up the torpedo power. A reduced radius seems to not spread too much the damage to adyacent compartements. Quote:
Any way he posted some wonderful real life pics of ship holes.... and they were SO big !! |
