I have uninstalled SH3 as per the GWX instruction and loaded 2.0 on a clean SH3 1.4. When I start a mission it crashes just after it goes to the black screen after the mission loading screen.
I am using XP, and have been able to play previous versions of GWX but have not got any further then this crash with 2.0. Any suggestions? EDIT: and I'm not using SH3Commander |

For starters:
1)Disable any mods 2)Perhaps your download of GWX2.0 was faulty. I suggest you download it again and check the files with a program to verify them. (Such as Jonesoft MD5Mate) 3)Then reinstall GWX2.0 4)Note any error message you might get at the time of the crash. If none of these solve the problem, request more help. And welcome aboard Mate

At work now and don't have the error message.
Looks like the problem has to do with one or some of the mods that can be turned on through JSGME. I uninstalled everything and reinstalled up to GWX2 but didn't select any of the mods and the game ran fine. Before I played again I selected some mods through JSGME (btw, I only have the mods that came with GWX2) and I get the same crash. I don't know which one is causing the crash but I will try to troubleshoot tonight. I think I only selected 16km Atmosphere, alternate flotillias, lite harbour traffic and the VIIC/41 model. |

Great
Your data is very helpful. If you can PM me the mod you are having trouble with and the specs of your system, I will take it to the developers and see if they can find the problem. It might be specific to your system, and I don't recall any problems with this in testing. It is also possible that the file in the mod is corrupted; If so I can send you the correct mod file and perhaps that will solve the problem. This type of feedback is very helpful.

Just as an extra precautionary question.....you are deleting the SH3 folder in MyDocs, and using the disc to perform the uninstall

I used the Windows Add/Remove program to uninstall and I did delete the SH3 file in MyDocs. Tonight I will try each mod one by one to see which one causes the crash.
Thanks for the interest in helping me solve my problem. |
