Default [req] The Forgotten Theater

i was looking for other stuff and i found this http://www.navy.mil/navydata/cno/n87.../forgotten.htm

the U.S. Submarine operations in the aleutians in wwII

i dont know if this can be modded in to the game but
it would be nice to have a career start at dutch harbor
since there where made 80 war patrols leaving that harbor
by the S-boats

An entry in S-23’s deck log for 13 February 1942 notes:
Shipped heavy sea over bridge. All hands on bridge bruised and battered. Officer of the Deck suffered broken nose. Solid stream of water down hatch for 65 seconds. Put high pressure pump on control room bilges; dry after two hours… Barometer 29.60, thirty knot wind from northwest.

actually ... the behaviour of the submarine in the whater in Sh3 seems to be better than Sh4

But anyway ... for what i understand there where only 9 confirmed ships sunk by the s-boats from dutch harbor ... for 2 s-boats lost with all hands and still a fleet boat also

Mods have made SH4 Sub Behavior mush better, you know it should not be impossible to do what you are looking for at some point in time, look at GWX, and what was done with it as far as ports.

The Aleutian Islands stretch 900 nautical miles westward from the Alaskan Peninsula to the outermost
island of Attu, only 650 miles from what was then Japan’s northernmost naval base at Paramushiro in
the Kurile Islands. The principal U.S. base was at Dutch Harbor on the island of Unalaska

From your link, nice site

yes i really hope that this is possible in a near future, i guess the weather conditions can me changed acordingly also ... not so random like in other areas ? ahh ... just imagine 2 little s-boats all covered in ice being beaten up by rough seas and then returning to that little harbor !

can you point me at some mod that afects the boat behaviour in the whater ?
