Default New members matter!!

Just want to say that I have shadowed this site for awhile, signed up fairly recently.

Played SH3, now playing Stock SH4 with the latest patch, going to try some of the mods that are available, thanks to the modders by the way. The game has it's issues, but I am enjoying the experience.

Gotta say though, as a noob, I am feeling a little intimidated by this site, came mainly due to the arrival of SH4. Sometimes it seems like their is some type of pecking order here. Like alot of so called noobs, I am here to be part of the community, ask questions and meet some interesting people. I will make mistakes, but we all have to start somewhere right.

The members here with the most experience or posts, all started with that first post.

Anyway thanks for being here subsim, great site, just ask that the veteran members out there give me and the rookie community a chance, I am sure someday we will do you proud.

Good Hunting

Most people around here try to help, which is why Subsim is such a nice place to stick around

Some people think of me as sort of being in the 'old crew', but truth to tell - I still think I'm in my "young" days of Subsim here. I came up with the previous big crop of newbies before you (as with SHIV in the last few weeks, SHIII drew in a deluge of new members when it was released), and hey, some things never changed - someone lurks around for a bit, then sort of starts sneaking some posts in, and before long they're a regular around here.

Lotsa room to get involved here. That's what keeps it good for newbies and old guys alike.

Welcome and such!

I love seeing new member sign up. It adds the background knowledge that people can tap into. A couple of new members have made a make in very quick time due to mods and /or knowledge that they bring to the site.

Welcome aboard and don't be afriad to make posts and add to the general back and forth that's on this site. I haven't been here that long compared to others, but I feel at home here.

There are so few subsimmers that every one matters.

We don't want to end up like.....the nudists. I was reading an article the other day that 80% of nudists in America are now over the age of 55. They are trying to draw new members by offering discounts for young couples and college students to go to a nudist resort, which due the Babyboomers level of disposable income, are very expensive.

Pecking order? Huh?

Get back to work NUB!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Seriously, there isn't very much of a "pecking" order here. There are simply more well known people which are usually modders or people who help a lot, and neither tend to be stuck up about their post count.

Just a tip: Don't push anyone around unless you can handle being pushed back. I mainly speak about the general topics forum where there can be heated, but sometimes interesting debates.

If you post really frequently you will join the old quard very quickly.
It took a member called Steve only one year to join it, he has some 6000+ post today.

Welcome!

Whether you are on post number 10,000 or post number 1, you could still know the answer to something that nobody else does, and so you can contribute just as much as everyone else.

The way I look at it is: at some point even Jimi Hendrix didn't know how to play the guitar!

Welcome aboard.
