Thats an excellent idea! Introducing the I type jap sub and the midget submarines, why not.But if the comunity modders allow me we can go further forward, could be achievable a great mod implementing these new units and adding more compartments for ALL the existing ones?Imagine the 3D enviroment if some more stations were implemented,I dont know,Officer or Captain quarters, machinery or torpedo room.....,figure out.

So,we have now something to discuss about in the next months.

A japanese sub would be exciting...with an appropriate japanese sided campaign of course.
But a single sub is a good addition and it will give us something to start from

It would be cool to have the sub with the plane hangar, too, just for craps and grins. Send out your Pete to find juicy Ami targets.

Yes, and with the air recon ability introduced with the upcoming expansion we could create a mod wich allows the sub to surface and launch its own recognition seaplane!!

In general, I would like to see these Jap boats roaming the Pacific as an added threat to the US missions, as well. You never know when Bungo Pete might have an underwater helper waiting to say hello.

The KD classes were based on German WWI designs (U-139) and the L4 class were based on the British L Class design. These would probably be easier to model, since there's probably more information on their european counterparts.

Japanese used many different types of submarines, a nice step forward would be recreating just a few ones...the most important models for example.

Yeah. The link I posted earlier shows all of the types. I just mentioned the KDs and L4 to make it easier on the modelers.

I myself would like to see a B3 class, looks almost like an American early war tambor class. And also a KD class.

It is inconceivable to me that nobody has ever tried to mod them as human-drivable, so anybody who has attempted same is free to chime in here with a list of obstacles, bugs, and missing features they encountered.

It took me 3 hours to modify this picture: Japanese B class submarine I-35 plans.

and a shot of another B class

Im hoping someone will make a B class, they were the most numerous.

And a 3D model of one
