I would say the need to pass the Aboriginal Land Rights Act of 1976 and the need for more legislation of this sort up until the early 1990's makes Australia calling Snoop a racist like the pot calling the kettle black.

Hardly! Apples and Oranges you are talking about. Calling someone a racists involves naming that person a hater of a particular race or thinks of their own race as superior. Failing to pass legislation for the benefit of a particular race has nothign to do with it.

They passed the legislation because they knew they had a problem. The drive was led by 14 different Churches.

I think it's the same reason Johnson was driven to pass the Civil Rights Bill of 1964.

Still, you are generalizing a society and generalizing a government. Two different things still. Maybe a bill hadn't been agreed upon - happens all the time here in the US.

Im part aborigine, and frankly i think your oughta get your facts straight before you go throwing out something like that..

Land rights are by and large a 220 year old problem courtesy of the laws of a bygone age. By no means are the land laws racist.

"Stolen generation" - yes, kids were forcibly removed from their homes, normally what we would term as 'squalid' conditions, and educated to a western standard. Granted, many kids were mistreated, but no more so than any orphans etc of the era. It was not a racist policy, but one intended to help.

Im yet to see where the racism comes in..

As for "the way they have treat the aborigines" part... im fine.. i havent been treated poorly or discriminated against or anything..masses of money is thrown to the outlying communities who honestly have nobody but themselves to blame for the prevalent alcohol and substance abuse which is rife through so many..

Now. As for snoop, well i saw an interview with a high profile media personality here the other day who was assembling a legal team to try get the ban overturned. This person was claiming snoop has become a bit of a posterboy for anti-violence, anti-gang work. I honestly dont know enough about the man to pass a judgement, although in this interview he was definately painted as a reformed man, eager to teach kids to appreciate more familial, peaceful values.
