Torp Tubes

Basic question that has been nagging me for some time but its only now that it has any real effect on me.

Can i open multiple torp tubes at once???? If so how???

I know i can open single tubes by selecting it and pressing 'Q' but if i select one and open it then select another and open it the first one closes. This is giving me headaches cos i cannot fire a spread and quick enough and am leaving myself exposed if i sit there firing one after the other.
