An odd occurence

So as usual im on a patrol with time compression 256x for 2 hours until i actually spot a ship. OF COURSE i spot one at 3oclock in the morning with school only 4 hours away so i get into a good intercept course and identify, firing solution, then save...

Come back all happy and giddy rdy to get my 1st kill on a SECOND patrol (i never finished 1, always died) and the ships are not off my starbord... I look at the radar (which is how i spotted them) and they magically got 40,000 feet away. When i saved they were about 1400. hmm. what happened. I tried reloading and same thing. I gotta chase them down again, but i wasted a lotta fuel >.

Did you save underwater?

I think I just learned the hard way that saving underwater has alot of problems besides dive planes not going down
