Default A radio message that means something - change base!

After some time being of the opinion that BdU messages were for use in the can only, I got one last night saying for U47 (me) to move base to Lorient (from Willi). I assume this is on the level and that docking there will give me the correct renown etc.?

This is with GWX if that matters...

I too have had this, except my orders were to change to St Nazaire. However I docked at the milk cow at Vigo instead of going back. After resupplying at Vigo the orders were indeed to return to new base St Nazaire as it seems my flotilla has been relocated - so I think its an actual valid radio message

If you have received 'Base has been changed to.....' then follow those orders.

FYI there are other messages that 'mean' things. For example have you ever received one saying 'Operation xxxxxx is underway' There are RL scripted invasions, sea battles & Harbour raids that are worth investigating if you're in the area.

It's off to Lorient then!

My new home:

Thanks for the advice and yes I suppose I have had some useful messages in the past. Suppose I just got sick of being booted out of TC by a message saying 'Am short of bananas' or even ones which look important like 'U47 return to Wilhelmshaven' for no apparent reason and which serve no purpose game-wise or history-wise.

yeah they can be cumbersome sometimes, othertimes though it gives you more of a feel you are not alone out in the sea.

Nice new digs there btw

Lorient is a very handy/well located starting point, giving access to the Atlantic Get a type IX and tour the sites

A type IX would be nice but I'm still in U47 working up my renown. Think it was 5,500 last time I saw it so I'm getting there!

Do you ever get re-assigned to a new type in the same career without having to spend the renown?
