Hello all. New here so thanks for tolerating me in advance. I've searched and posed a question in the [WIP] ONI Style Recognition Manual thread, which is the only other place I've seen mention of this. In afterthought I figured rather than hijack his thread, I would re-pose the question. Do any of you know how to reposition the scale bar for the recognition manual, or remove it in its entirety. For the resolutions that i am running the scale bar leaps off the recog manual to the right only the left most bar lies on the actual page. As per the other mention of the problem, going to a lower resolution resolves the problem to an extent making 1024 x 768 the only resolution that the scale bar is effective.

Yep - this one's simple - all you gotta do to get rid of the scale is the following change to the menu_1024_768.ini file:
[G25 I43] Zone= 115 122 429 7 0 1 0x25060003 0 -1 0x25060004 0 0 1000 1000 (see thread here (post 18 for above) for more discussion about the recog manual: http://www.subsim.com/radioroom/showthread.php?p=519299#post519299 ) Enjoy! (PS - those numbers were for 1024x768 - they'll probably be enough to make it go away at that higher resolution you mentioned too, but if not, just try increasing the last one to 2000 or so and that should probably do it)

I tampered with the ones I thought might effect it, but your trick seemed to get what needed to be done, done in the meantime. Thanks again.
--Edit: Also to others trying to replicate. If you reference [G25 I43] this is only the heading if your using the slide out recoginition manual. If you are attempting to modify a stock install look for [G25 I48], better yet di a find for Scale and look for a [G25 I#] and you should be in the right place. Glad it worked for you - I suspect that we can quit worrying about the sliding manual and the "phantom background" problems we were having with the sliding manual as detailed in that thread, now that the devs appear to have fixed the manual in this 1.3 patch so that it now remembers and re-opens to the page you were on last. However, some of that other info about moving the whole manual around on the page may still be helpful/useful (for those who would like it better along the top of the screen than along the bottom, for example).

Last time I checked mine with the standalone sliding mod by Kosh at 1920x1080 its overlaying my TDC. Now I'm trying to figure out how to reduce its size by say 25% and move it just under the position keeper. Also I've notice since 1.3 a little 0 in the top left of the manual, but only in an otherwise unmolested state.
Thanks again. |
