Default [TEC] US Submarine Diving Times

I don't know about you guys, but doesn't it seem like it takes along time to reach periscope depth once the alarm is sounded or is it just me. Is there a way that some game files can be tweaked so the diving times are speeded up?

I remember reading somewhere that the average diving times for a fleet submarine during the war were as low as 35 to 45 seconds. In the movie "Run Silent, Run Deep" when the Nerka was attacking the Momo destroyer she dived in 32 seconds. Of course, that was a movie.

More than 35 seconds, i think 45 to 50
Us fleet boats are very large and it takes long to dive, its not like a VII boat

In sh1 gato class 45 seconds in crash dive

Yup...the Gato class takes longer to dive than the Balao class, that's for sure.

Could some of those differences be contributed to inexperience with the crews? It seems to me that German U-Boat crews were more accustomed to crash diving after enemy contact, whereas US sub crews tended to duke it out on the surface.

I'm probably 99% wrong but that other 1% is annoying me

Try the "FTT" mod by Ducimus. He has modified the crashdive times to something like 50 seconds, among many other enhancement tweaks.
