Firing solution displayed in the TDC
Ok, I am back to playing SH3 and loving it. I am using nothing but manual targeting so I really want to learn how to do it right. Hence a really basic question
Once I have taken all my readings and transmitted them to the TDC, there is a line that is displayed from my submarine. What is this line and where should it be pointing? a. It is the firing solution and therefore should intersect with the target b. It is the predicted torpedo track and therefore should lead my target Which is it? Knowing what the line represents will help me evaluate my solution |

Its the projected torpedo path. It should definitely be ahead of your target.

In reality that line isn't going to help you much. You can't use it to guage with any accuracy BUT you can use it to do a quick visual check. If you are experienced enough you might be able to tell if you solution looks off. But all in all I barely ever look at it.
In fact since installing this mod: http://www.subsim.com/radioroom/showthread.php?p=463988#post463988 I've not even pressed F6. ![]() |
