Default Is the Magnetic Influence even working?

As the title states. IS the Magentic Influence detonation actually working?

Every time I pass a torp under the keel it doesn't explode. So I keep decreasing the torp depth. When I finally get a detonation, I also get a Contact detonation at the same depth.

I test with no Duds.

Also, do the merchants have variable draft? In my tests I had a lot of variaton in draft on the same ship type.

Thanks.

What year? US subs de-activated the magnetic exploder in June 1943 for Pearl Harbor boats, later in the same year for Freemantle boats.

Ship draft should vary a bit. Is your target fully loaded and setting deeper, or is it empty, and riding higher ?

Yep the magnetic fuze is working, as to if it's working 100% correctly I wouldn't like to say but I have had a few good under keel hits when I've had the torp depth set correctly.

If you check the draughtsubmerged value from the sim files (with Tweaker), you see that there are real weird values showing the swimming depth of the ships.

Check this also. http://www.subsim.com/radioroom/show...=109844&page=2

Yes, it seems Ubi ****ed up the ships draft somehow in several classes. Not sure if they manage to patch this for next version, but maybe ingenious modders can fix it with editing the cfgs and we are all happy sailors.
