I decided to change things up a bit playing today. I moved my base from peral to the Jawa sea, since its a few months into the war the japs have taken a lot of terratory, like wake, and the phillipines.
Started my patrol and my base was under attack from a near island coastal battery! That was cool, I couldn't get my crew to attack the coastal battery but it was an interesting experaince. So, I decided to start all over, with all graphic setting on a high, including the post process stuff... I chose a small S class, and I'm starting in the phillipines. When I check out the bridge something cool happened, I clicked my mouse to adjust my veiw and the camera panned and my sonar guy looked back at me over his shoulder... This did not happen at all on a Salmin class. Whats this tell me? Devs rarly forget to remove functionality, but they will leave things in thats half done. This tells me they are still going to get the crew to respond to your interations, and that would cover a whole host of initial issues such as missing voice files (they could be attached to the crew, even it your not interacting with them). Teh missing things like weather reports, atmospheric sounds, and damage call outs... Excited about an assumption? You bet! I understand game development very intemetly and what has to be done to a product when its forced out the door, all core functionality (or features critical to playing the game from beginging to end), pull back on all anselary like side functionality, side missions, etc. I've been through that blender many times ![]() Also getting used to the post processing filter has made the game really amazing looking. It really was intended to be played this way. I'm actully haveing a ball, I'll share my end of day report. Anyway, I'm really getting excited, I just hope that sales don't get hurt by the long lead time to get into this game. There is plenty to look forward to but understand this is a pretty "core" board, we are a minority with high expectations so don't sweat the negativity. ![]() Sorry, no time to clean this, my boat is sailing without me right now... |

Can you explain what PPF does again? And good news on the Sub thing. IS PPF the Hollywood feel? Or is that a seperate option?
Kinda hope that its not just the S class that the crew responds in. Tried a Gato yet? When I get it I want all the options maxed, the way it was meant to play. |

The fact that the crew thing sorta works, meaning the 1 crew member responds but has no other functionality is an indication that they all will when then they patch it. It always goes to the same guy no matter who you click. |

My 1st S boat patrol is CRAZY, I can't get to my patrol point N of the phillipines... There is task force after task force assembling off the West coast of the phillipines. Troop carriers, landing craft, and they are in formation with destroyers circaling them. When you desturb them they scatter and it's a turkey shoot. But my mark 10 torps aren't doing much damage...
