S.O.S

Hi All,
This is my first post. I been around Subsims since Silent Service came out for Nintendo. Nice work on the mods, definatly appreciate the work.

I made the mistake of installing a few mods without creating BACK UPS!
(Yah I am )

I installed 2RTR US Periscope v1.1 (2.2MB),Dark background for Recognition Manual ,Pampanito Helm Bar ,Mini-chronometer, and jimimadrid's SH4 Toolbar "Lamp" mod . The error I receive is MENU ID NOT FOUND 0x42170006.

HELP!!!!

Welcome Torps.To Subsim,& SHIV

If you used JSGME,rollback mods 1@ a time, until you find which one conflicts w/menu.ini, a conflict exists in your mods that change the

Ouch. Sounds like you'll need to uninstall and reinstall from your DVD. 'cept after that you should use JSGME to install your mods, as these fine gentleman have mentioned.

Welcome aboard Torps! Sounds like a complete uninstall and reinstall. Use JSGME program for mods. It is super easy and a great way to eliminate any problems with mods installed. Not that there many if any at all but it is a nice tool to have. I use it religiously!

Game fixed

I had to reinstall everything and defrag to get the game going. Installed the mod installer aswell, NICE, makes things a lot easier!!!

Also waiting for the latest patch so I do not retire soon.

I've pretty much decided to hold off playing until 1.3 comes out myself lest the numerous bugs frustrate me into never playing again, but if you're just worried about the early forced retirement problem I think there are a number of mods that fix or work around that. I've been using Trigger Maru and I'm pretty sure it gets rid of or works around the buggy forced retirement stuff. You might be able to find a mod that does just that & nothing else if you're not inclined to go with one of the large mod-packs.
