![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() I'm a fan of pirate/sailing genres and have yet to find a good game (other than Age of Pirates) Tortuga: Two Treasures is a horrible Pirate game. It only had a few things were interesting: -Kraken Bait can be dropped in the water to summon a kraken to attack nearest ship. -You can pick up dropped sailors (or they drown or get eaten by sharks) -There are Reefs that can slow down and damage hull of ship -Islands, ships, and sailing world model scale looked nice. The layout of waterways is pretty decent, -Enemies killed turn to grave stones. The more enemies you kill in an area the higher your "cemetary bonus" -3-D ship models in boardings look nice. (Even though they are cartoon-like) -You can deploy a dingy boat from your main ship to enter shallow areas and rivers. Things that were Bad: -Arcade game play -Ships sail too fast (like speedboats) -Too colorful (Very Cartoon-like) -Forced to play Storyline (no open ended game play) -Simple Trading/Reward System (where you buy special abilities after each level) -Simple level by level missions (very boring) -Storyline is a cheap immitation of Pirates of the Carribbean Movie -Menu Interface looks like it was made in 5 minutes using Macromedia Flash -Character animations are awkward and disproportional (short legs, long arms) |
