A Question

Say I start a career in a VIIC boat U-372 in July '41 in the first flotilla. Now this boat transferred to the 29th flotilla in December of 1941. How do I accomplish this in GWX with SH3 ? I know I have to traverse the Straits of Gibraltar, so do I just motor into La Spezia, and then start applying for a transfer to the 29th flotilla after every patrol? Is there a renown penalty for operating out of a different port? All the info I can get would be appreciated.

You can only apply for a transfer in your home port
