Default Some help please

Hello everyone,
It’s been a long time since I’ve visited this site, but I have a problem and I was wondering if any of you could help me. I had SH3 installed on my machine for a while (with some mods that you have/had on this site) but I had to remove it a few months ago, however it would not uninstall, so I deleted it from my hard drive (dumb) and now when I want to install it I get this message.

1608: unable to create InstallDriver instance,
Return code: -2147221021

Anything that anyone could tell me would be greatly appreciated
I have no clue as to what to do.
Thank you in advance
Kevin

What did you delete ?
The SilenHunterIII folder ?

Put the DVD in
Click install then repair

If you only deleted the folder above without removing any registery entries that should work

This is an Install Shield Error......

Have a look here - http://consumer.installshield.com/kb.asp?id=Q108440

Or Update your Windows Installer via Microsoft.

I believe I ran into the same deal. I hit one of the selections and I think it was 'modify'. I tried the install and repair. Frustrated at that point I hit the modify and it work. It then loaded the program. I patched to 1.4 and loaded GWX. Worked for me.

Thank you everyone,

I'll give it a shot later today (I'm at work now) and let you know how I made out.

I did delet the folder.

I don't remember seeing a repair option when trying to install, but I'll look more closely at it today.

Not really the same subject but, because I've been gone so long, what's new, what should I look for as far as mods, last thing I remember was someone working on the milk-cows. Like I said it's been a while. Again, thanks to everyone for the help.

Yes, pop in the disk. Click I believe uninstall. Look for a pop up that has Modify, Repair, uninstall. I tried the Repair and uninstall. No good. So I said what the hell, clicked on modify. It ran some things off the disk. Once done I then attempted to load in the 1.4b patch. That worked. Then GWX went in without issue.

I had to go into the install shield folder on my hard drive and delete the key that referred to the SHIII installation, and then clean my registry before I could get it to modify the installation
