Default Problems with mission editor, please help

I have tried doing some small altering in the campaign LND, SCR and RND layers, mostly to learn how to. My problem is, I am not allowed to save it! When ever I want to save the mission valiation pops up and reports 100's of errors in waypoints for units I have not added and thereby saving is not allowed. How the heck did the guys who made the great mods do it? Save their changes I mean? How can I save my work in the mission editor when altering campaign files?

WW.
beats me.
I have had the same problem and just gave up trying to make a new mission. I am sure there is a way; perhaps if you post on the mission subforum you will get the answer.

Default maybe

are you saving them as normal mission or Lnd rnd and scr layers.?

also is it giving you "Error's" or "Warnings"
errors will prevent the save warnings will not prevent the save.

:hmm:

Use the " save land units layer as " etc commands

Normal missions have to have no units closer than 300m and waypoint more than 1km apart
The SCR and RND dont so if you save as a normal mission you will get errors

Thanks all of you for your replies

@Irish

Yeah, but I'm not trying to make a single mission, I am trying to make changes in the campaign setup, I would like to be able to make alterations in the campaign you know, adding, removing bases, convoys etc. etc. Single missions don't have my interest at all except from when I'm experimenting with some tactic or equipment

@Mush Martin:

I am saving them as rnd, scr or lnd layers and then I get 100's of errors saying that the waypoints of the many units and groups are too close. Even though I choose to ignore this and save it any way, the changes I have made then are not saved, so the warnings must prevent me saving, what else should?

@Bigboywooly:

I have never saved as a normal missions since I don't want to make one such. Now that you mention it, I cannot remember whether I save by clicking "save" only or "save xxxlayer AS" :hmm: ........have to try that, but I'm almost sure that I already have tried both. Is this what you have done when you made the campaign changes for NYGM or did you use another program?
