Default Command Room Crew Management

I understand how having an officer with the torpedo qualification, stationed in the torpedo room, dramatically improves compartment efficiency.

But how about the three slots in the command room - does it make a difference if I have a guy with a torpedo qualification in the Weapons Officer slot? Or can I just put any officer in any of the three slots with equal results?

Lastly, should I get the helmsman qual for all three of those command room officers?

Thanks for the help.

The efficiency of your Weapons Officer does not get affected by the torpedo qualification.
As long as at least two of the officers in the command room have the helmsman qualification everything should be alright.

Since you have three officers in the Command room you can play a bit with the qualifications. If you have helmsman qualifications they do improve a lot, but I usually set my Weps with a Torpedo Qualification. After all he is calculating the solutions so he must be torpedo expert. In general I guess if you have the little green bar full you're OK, as then you have aximum efficiency

Theoretically, the officers in the comman room should be helmsmen. Personnally, I haven't seen any difference even if noone is a helmsman, as long as there is enough efficiency in the room. If the three steering sailors are experienced enough with high rank, then the room's efficiency will never drop below function levels. I haven't notice any difference in turning rate or diving speed or any of the functions that these officers do, related with their qualification.

The Helm Qual is a joke. It does nothing. You can let control room green bar drop to zero and let all three planesmen get "E"'s and it makes no difference.

That's probably why the helmsman qualification has been removed in NYGM mod ?

I have yet to be convinced that the Helmsman qualification is of any positive benefit at all :hmm:

Warrant Officers and Officers with a qualification, only improve efficiency when in a compartment that matches that qualification. The only exception to this, is that an officer on the Bridge will affect not only the watch efficiency, but the flak and deck gun efficiecy as well, if he has qualifications in those areas.
