Will she stay afloat?

I've rendered a C3 disabled and afloat and she's taking forever to sink. I would finish her off with the deck gun but the weather won't allow me and I don't want to waste another torpedo.

My question is, can I mark the exact position on the map, continue patrolling (heading for the first time to loch ewe) and return in favorable weather to sink her with the deck gun? I imagine the game does not render rescues/tows from allied ships but will it stay there? If it is gone I can check the depths to see if it eventually went down on its own but getting no credit for the kill would be disappointing..

Anyone else been in this situation?

Hi Adam
Chances are the ship will be gone
If you travel 35-50km away the ship disappears from the player world
It will respawn as a moving untouched unit

Tis worth another fish for a C3

Yes, had a feeling that would be the case...well, I'll send one more in to break its back. Thanks for the quick response. Any pointers/tips/hints on loch ewe? Never been there before...

Speaking of spawn points, it's Feb 28, 1940 and I wanted to know if the game spawns capital ships during your patrol or do you need to start the patrol at or after these dates? I'm waiting for a certain ship in scapa flow and don't want to get there and find there's nothing but 12 destroyers after me...

Lo there!

I remember my first time with Teddy mod Sinking by flooding.

It took me two days (in game) to score the kill. No Eels left or DG ammo!
She sank so slow! And i knew after leaving a certain radius the ship will go "poof Houdini"!

So... i stuck around and all the time i was visited by plans and DD'S ...ah good ol' times!

Well if your playing GWX and your in Feb 1940 you won't find a capital ship there, you might find a fiji cruiser the only other thing worth hitting is a medium tanker and a medium merchant (C2) the rest are neutral or not worth a torpedo.Im not sure about the date but I think the next capital ship in there is H.M.S Anson and she appears in 42.
