Default Renown ?!?!?

In sh4 we still have to ´buy´ stuff for our subs ??

I suppose not, uncle sam is rich

But if we do, that´ll be a pain just like in SH3 ! (i play low realism)

One of the things that has been suggested (I don't know yet if it's real or not) is that if you click "Realistic Career Length" you'll be retired after a certain time. If you have enough pull with ComSubPac you might use your available renown to "buy" one more patrol.

But if you play low realism, why do you need renown, you can do what you want anyway?

Yes, it's back, and in more ways then ever. You now get bonuses for landing troops/supplies/photo recon and for rescuing friendly pilots. You now also have to use renown to extend your career since career length is now limited historically (your captain gets retired after a few patrols).
