When I was based in "Lorient" my Watchman use to say "aircraft spotted" all the time he spotted a plane, now am in Penang a plane overflys my boat and the idiot just stands there mute saying nothing does he not know what a Adro looks like? enemy planes no ploblem.

Odd, when I'm in Kiel, mine only calls out the planes once (one time for each plane), then never calls them out again. How ever, he'll call out the ships, then call them again......and again..............and again

If they stay in visual range there not called out again after the first report, but if they disappear the deck crew will report it again when it reappears.
