Default Scapa Flow

Has anyone been to Scapa Flow, and if so what did you see? (ie. any big game?)

I just went there, but I wanted to see who else.

Went there in GW1.1a...not with GWX. Was mid '40 and I went thru the eastern inlets...very shallow and narrow. There was a King George V class BB waiting for me along with a few DD's, and Merchants.

I wouldn't try Scapa in GWX or later than 1940.

GW1.1 could still make it in 44, but i started at Bergen and entered from the northern pass, there are some sunken obstacles but not much else in terms of deterants... the western side isn't much fun though. did it in broad daylight sunk 2 troop transports and an Auxiliary.. hardly a wimper from the RN surprsiingly... did this once or twice that year. playing 96%

haven't tried GWX yet though, don't think i'll risk it. there's not much in later war years, hit em bright and early

There is generally nearly always something worth sinking in Scapa Flow...you have to go and take your chance...just like Prien did

You can sneak in past the blockade-ships, using this small entrance:

...but ALWAYS remember you have only 11m of water under kiel on periscope-depth!

I sneaked in during the night, after finding a small gap next to a wreck close to shore..I had only 3m tolerance on all 3 sides.
Then I had to wait stationary submerged all day, for evening to fall, and prepare for the attack at the Fiji-class that was lying on anchor, at 7000m West of my position...oxygen went down to 40%, but was quickly replenished in the 1st hr of dawn, after lying decks-awash for a little while.
There was a guy fishing closeby, but he never noticed us lol.
The thunderstorm overhead made it all pretty creepy.

I fired 2 electric torps, set at 6.1m (Fiji=5m draft) on a 1degr. spread, from 1200m.
They never knew where it was coming from, and the (10ktons) Fiji sank within 2hrs.
I escaped the same way I came from, on silent running, with plenty of oxygen and E-power.
By the time that other ships came investigating, we were already gone, back through the barricade.
Once beyond that barrier, there's no way they can get us anymore, unless they send airplanes.
Well...let them come!

Sailing from Bergen in typeVIIC fully upgraded, June '42, GWX.

I was there a few days ago(GWX), pocketed 2 Didos, 1 Destroyer, 1 Large Passenger thingy, and 1 Fishingboat (just for fun, she flew!). Then I crashed into the blockade ships with the TC button hanging at 1FPS.

Got back to Bergen, though. Barely.
